Maritza Gonzalez—a leader, compassionate caregiver, and dedicated community advocate—With 18+ years in healthcare, Maritza has been a key role in health care market development for several physicians and their successful practices. — and in 2025, she launched Texas Healthcare Alliance Chamber of Commerce, together with her partner, creating a healthcare resource hub for the people of our community while staying a non-profit organization to raise money to give scholarships to those seeking a career in healthcare in the Rio Grande Valley. But her impact doesn’t stop there!

Inspired by her daughter’s journey with Dravet Syndrome, she’s passionate about aligning medical services and providing education that empowers individuals to take control of their health. From her work to her leadership across nonprofit boards, Maritza is committed to helping our community become champions of their own care—one connection at a time.

Meet the Visionaries Behind THACC: "Driving Change & Empowering Communities"

Lorena Hernandez is a seasoned healthcare professional with over 25 years of nursing experience and two decades of wound care certification. As a Clinical Resource Manager for a global hygiene and health company, she brings deep clinical expertise and a heartfelt commitment to improving lives. Lorena is passionate about building meaningful connections—whether with healthcare providers, community members, or chamber partners.

Her recent collaboration as a founder for the Texas Healthcare Alliance Chamber of Commerce reflects her dedication to addressing local gaps in care and creating impactful programs that connect people with vital resources. Outside of her professional role, Lorena enjoys a vibrant family life with her husband of 21 years, their three adult children, and three spirited rescue dogs.
